What’s In Neskowin?
Neskowin is proud
that it does not
have a gas station;
however it is big
enough for a cafe
(the excellent Hawk
Creek Café) and
market (Neskowin
Market). In
addition, Neskowin
has two 9-hole golf
courses, a riding
stable (summers
only) and an art
gallery.
Hiking, Bicycling,
and Horseback Riding
Nearby trails are
perfect for
leisurely hiking and
sightseeing,
including Cascade
Head with breath
taking panoramas.
Neskowin's 15 mph
speed limit makes us
kid and pet
friendly, and a
great place to
bicycle around. A
stable is
conveniently located
during the summer
season.

Cascade Head
Trail #1310 is
located within the
Cascade Head
Scenic-Research Area
of the Siuslaw
National Forest, and
features a forested
backdrop with large
Sitka spruce,
Douglas fir, Red
alder, and Western
hemlock trees. The
six-mile trail is
rated difficult, and
is open year round.
The north trailhead
can be reached one
mile south of
Neskowin, and the
south trailhead is
located at the
corner of Hwy 101
and Three Rocks
Road.
The grassy meadow
atop Cascade Head
has a postcard view
of the Salmon River
estuary and the long
beach that fronts
Lincoln City.
The
Nature Conservancy
owns 280 acres. Dogs
and bicycles are not
allowed and hikers
must stay on the
tread of the trail.
To find the lower
trailhead on the
south side of
Cascade Head, drive
1.1 miles north of
the U.S. 101/Oregon
18 interchange at
the north end of
Lincoln City. Turn
left (west) on Three
Rocks Road, drive
2.3 miles to Savage
Road, turn right and
continue 0.4 miles
to the trailhead.
Parking is no longer
allowed at the
trailhead, so drive
back down Savage
Road and west on
Three Rocks Road (a
total of 0.7 miles)
and park at Knight
Park. For the more
hearty hikers, look
for the Harts Cove
Trail, where you'll
find stands of old
growth timber and
beautiful meadows.
This trail is
further north on
Highway 101 and is
closed during
certain times of the
year.
